Canon Digital Rebel XT 8MP Digital SLR Camera

Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Camera Lens

Among 35mm SLR cameras, the 50mm lens provides the closest representation to our normal perspective. This lens is usually considered the standard lens because it is reasonably fast and sees pretty much what the eye sees and is strongly recommended for most general-purpose photography.

With all this new gear, It was time to upgrade the old camera bag. After some research we finaly decided on the Canon Deluxe Photo Backpack. After seeing it in person for twice the price at our local photography stores, we ordered it online. We also picked up a second Canon NB-2LH Rechargeable Battery Pack for our Digital Rebel XT so we wouldn’t have to worry about running out of power in the field. In that same spirit, we added a SanDisk 2GB ULTRA II Compact Flash memory card to our kit. This allows us to shoot all day without having to download images or reduce image size.

Also included in our bag of tricks is the Canon Speedlite 580EX flash. Now available as the 580EX II, this is the premier Speedlite for all photographers, including professionals. The Speedlite 580EX has faster recycling time, more consistent color and enhanced controls among other improvements that all photographers, especially those who shoot digital, will find useful. Zoom, Bounce, and Swivel Head for best positioning and includes a wide-angle adapter.

With the addition of the Speedlite 580EX it occured to me that we needed more power to unleash the full potential of our new toy, I mean tool. The new external Compact Battery Pack CP-E3 improves flash recycle times significantly and increases the number of firings before batteries need to be replaced. A definite must have for anyone doing wedding photography.
