A church in Georgia is trying a new approach to get people in the door. They are giving away two $500 gas cards to newcomers or members. All they have to do is attend church events. My first thought was “WOW, that’s cool!”, but now I’m not sure how I feel about this. You want people to come to church because God is calling them, not for money or gas. I know God can use anything for his own glory, but what is the real motivation behind the church’s decision? Anyhoo…I just thought this was interesting.

As I was skimming the NBC website this morning, I ran across a segment titled “75 skills every man should master”. I started looking around for the actual list because it caught my attention and found it on Esquire. Tom Chairella wrote the article and I’m not sure how he acquired this list, but he claims that “a man can be expert in nothing, but he must be practiced in many things. Skills. You don’t have to master them all at once. You simply have to collect and develop a certain number of skills as the years tick by. People count on you to come through. That’s why you need these, to start.” What do you think?
