I attended a women’s breakfast this past Saturday and was blessed by the message Hope prepared and presented. It’s funny how I’ve been struggling with my imagine in Christ especially this past year (becoming a mom)and God has been answering my prayers. It first started when David spoke a few weeks ago and read a list of titles we hold as Christians and at my missional community we continued to discuss what those titles mean to us and how they affect our spirit and outlook on life. This Saturday was yet another example of God pouring his grace on me because I must not have fully understood what he was telling me the first two times because Hope shared with us ladies what our identity is in Christ. God is so faithful that way. He is the father that continues to wait for his children and when we humbly run back as the prodical son did in the Bible, the father ran to him, clothed him and celebrated his sons return. As I continue to remember that everything is about what Christ has done and not what we do, I am filled with much gratitude, joy, humility as well as learning about my identity in Christ. The guilt, the shame, the negative things I hold onto are no longer relevant because Christ bore the cross for my sin…I am clean…I AM CLEAN! Even as I write this the enemy is attacking me, but Christ’s words are much stronger than Satan. I am called to put on the full armor of God every day…this is a continuous battle here on earth, but the marvelous thing that lightens that burden is that Christ is already victorious. Amen!

Ultra Star Theaters have a family movie morning available once a week for moms &/or dads to go to the movies for half the price and kids under 4 are free. Awesome, right? The overall idea is great, but they must not have parents picking the movies they show. I know the idea is that parents get to see grown up movies, but where should they draw the line? Last week they showed Forgetting Sarah Marshall, rated R. I don’t know if you’ve seen it, but I did and was surprised when I saw not just one, but three full male nudity scenes. I guess movie critics don’t bother mentioning nudity anymore, not even male frontal nudity. I am thankful that it was just my husband and I. My son’s only 4 months and he wouldn’t understand even if we did bring him, but I would never consider taking my 4 year old niece to see this movie. Hopefully moms and dads do some research before heading off to the movie theater with their small children. They could find themselves in a very uncomfortable situation.

It’s a beautiful thing when your baby stops crying and falls asleep. I don’t know about you, but for a while there I was stressed out because I didn’t know what my son wanted. Now, I feel as though I’m starting to catch on to his routine and we’re finally jiving. I am starting to recognize his different cries. Thank you, Lord! I am also not as stressed out about my living room becoming a toy box because I know that as soon as I clean everything up off the floor and put the bouncer and exersaucer away, I’ll be pulling them out again once my son wakes up from his nap. A month ago I would have freaked out because of the clutter, but something has happened to me…I guess I’m starting to let go of the control I thought I once possessed. There are some things you just have to give to God and say “here, take it…it’s yours. Nothing I can do can change my situation. God, please let me be content in all things…even the clutter”.

Ephesians 2:1-14 Explains where we were and what God has done for us.
Kaleo Church recently discussed Ephesians 2:1-14. This passage reveals God’s, mercy, love and love for us and through his death he has drawn us to Himself. In doing so, we now have the ability to find peace and know more of who God is.
The one part of the sermon that struck me the most was when our elder, David, started naming off all the titles we possess as Christians and as the Children of God.
“The best thing we can do is come to see Christ for who He is so that we can believe God’s Word when it says that in Christ…

There is a website that I have frequently visited. It’s called Mamasource. It is a great place to ask questions about anything and people actually comment back. Being a first time mom often leaves me stumped for answers and this website has helped me a few times. Now, the people that comment might not always have the right answer &/or tips, but it’s a better direction than none at all. That’s what I think at least.
Check it out: www.mamasource.com
